Unrolling with dried herbs, savoury tomato leaf to sweeter tones of glacé cherries, flowers and mint. From a vineyard planted in 1978 in Firgrove, Stellenbosch, 40% whole bunch magnifies its site. The kaleidoscopic palate shifts from spice to exuberant fruit, keenly balanced on a knife of pinpoint dryness. Nine months’ maturation in older French oak barrels adds subtle curves and faint grip of tannins.
