Lukas van Loggerenberg gained experience in the Finger Lakes in New York State, as well as France and South Africa, before starting his own project after a 2015 trip to France. Grapes for Graft are sourced from the Polkadraai Hills vineyard, and the must undergoes a 100% whole-bunch, spontaneous fermentation followed by blending and 10 months’ ageing in barrel. Greg Sherwood MW: Bright and lifted with exhilarating red berry zest, violets, cherry blossom and a slight carbonic, pink-fruited complexity. Seamlessly balanced, a thoroughly delicious wine, sappy with cool acids and a harmonious energy. Daniel Grigg: Fresh and lifted, a pop-and pour pleaser; pomegranate and glacé cherry, cold jasmine tea. Roger Jones: Liquorice-perfumed nose. Starts bright, with perfume and floral notes, but as it evolves the perfume elegance and juicy fruit combine well into a beautiful, fragrant wine.
