Fruit-forward generosity in this traditional method sparkling, opening with an abundance of apple, pear, citrus and a swathe of flint-smoke. It strikes a fine balance between fruitfulness and Chenin’s inherent structure and lancing acidity. 18 months’ lees contact seams notes of gingerbread into quince and melon on the palate and preserves its fresh appeal. The mousse is lively yet well integrated and persistent to the finish, ending with a refreshing, mouthwatering snap of crisp green apple. Named for the family matriarch.
