With 55% Mourvèdre leading out 40% Syrah and 10% Grenache, you might expect a high-octane, meaty tannic beast, but this is a much more gentle giant from Rhône lover Niels Verburg. Each variety is aged in barrel for two years before blending, and both the oak and alcohol are very well integrated into the supple, silky palate, packed with juicy, spicy, red-berry fruit. CWG estimate: ZAR3,700-4,100 per six-bottle case
