Based in Wellington, Bosman Family Vineyards traces its history back to 1707, with the first of the Bosman family arriving at the estate in 1798. Wine was made here until 1957, when the family decided to instead focus on its vine nursery. However, in 2007 Petrus Bosman, the eighth generation of the family, started making wine again. 

The Optenhorst vines are 67 years old and planted on decomposed granite. The grapes are picked by hand with a yield of 42 hl/ha. The 2017 has notes of strawberry and peach, with a seductive, mouthfilling texture and considerable length.
