This stunning new vintage shows spicy notes of ginger and dried pineapple, with quince, Golden Delicious apple and a note of macadamia coming through on what is a bone-dry, concentrated and texturally engaging palate. Gorgeously persistent and savoury to finish, it's a triumph. Just 1,400 bottles produced. Made from Wellington Grenache Blanc planted in 2016 as bush vines on deep clay soils with iron deposits, this is the third vintage created by Joan Heatlie. An element of skin contact on a small proportion of the fruit, and extended lees contact of 15 months in 500-litre barrels builds complexity in what can otherwise be a neutral variety.
