Inzuzo Wine Co is an empowerment project owned by workers at Journey’s End. Profits raise funds for projects in nearby Sir Lowry’s Pass village, where many workers have lived for generations; ‘inzuzo’ means ‘benefit’ or ‘reward’ in Zulu and Xhosa. ‘It is a dream project for me to combine winemaking with outreach,’ says talented young winemaker Kaylin Willscott. Her perfumed Cinsault-Grenache blend is packed with vibrant red fruit – cherries, plum and wild strawberry – with subtle hints of lavender, graphite and spice. Elegant and lifted; with deft tannins; plenty of drinking pleasure!
