Donovan Rall began his label in 2008 with two wines, one of which was this. A broad backbone of fleshy Chenin offers yellow apples, limes, into this he ribbons in a flash of green-toned Verdelho, and peach-scented Viognier. Fruit from the Swartland, with a portion of Stellenbosch. Parcels are kept separate, fermented naturally, and aged in old oak and a concrete egg for a pared-back, textural wine that finishes flinty and fine.
