Muga, Conde de Haro Brut, Cava, Spain, 2013
Muga is one of few produders allowed to make Cava outside its home region of Catalonia. This is mostly Viura with a dash of Malvasia and it is made just like Champagne with two years’ ageing on its lees. Full of bread, toasted almond and apples. Lovely texture, very expressive and full of personality.
