Although perhaps past its prime, it's a remarkable experience to taste the inaugural vintage of Finca Garbet 20 years on. It retains remarkable vibidnes and fluidity. While the nose is dominated by tertiary notes of tobacco, leather, dried Mediterranean herbs, fig and sweet spice, the palate surprises with bright cranberry, cherry and pomegranate still flowing under prune, chocolate and Turkish coffee. Finishes with a long tail of Earl Grey and fig leaf.
