My first choice for this selection would have been the Mas Doix 1903 Garnacha, a special favourite, but there’s so little of it and the price so correspondingly high, that it’s better to get a flavour of the slate soils from the little brother. From young vines, organic, aged for about eight months in French oak. There’s a pile of cherry fruit and plenty of young spice bursting from the glass.
