This wine is pure 85 year old Carinyena grown in a south facing site lying between Torroja del Priorat and Poboleda. The grapes are picked as early as possible, left as whole cluster, and given a very gentle infusion-like maceration before undergoing restrained oak ageing in older big wood and 500 litre barrels. The Terroir al Limit approach doesn’t make for prodigiously aromatic wines in youth; look, rather, for the elegance, the energy, the poise and the freshness of the palate, with its swooping raspberry and red apple fruits. It is fine-textured, concentrated and long.
