Anónimas is a project founded by Cristina Yagüe Cuevas and Maria Falcón, the aim being to pay tribute to all those anonymous women whose input into the wine industry was never recognised. Os Dunares (‘the dunes’) is from a tiny, 200-year-old organic vineyard in Rías Baixas, organically farmed in very shallow granitic sand on a bedrock of granite, in the cool and wet Atlantic-facing Salnés climate. Sarah Jane Evans MW: Penetrating crisp acidity (a fine counterpoint to the weighty wines further south and east). It’s dark, with brambles, blackcurrant and wild herbs. Lovely. Christine Allen: Blueberry, violet, Turkish delight and sweet beetroot. It has a lively and engaging palate, with bright florals, lovely spice and crunchy blueberry on the finish. Beth Willard: Delicate red berries on the nose, with milk chocolate notes. An elegant and fresh palate. Perfectly managed tannin with just the right amount of grip.
