Peixes is a new project from Jesús Olivares and Curro Bareño, working with grapes from some of the highest vineyards in Galicia at 600-850m altitude. Old vines on stone terraces are farmed organically or sustainably by hand. This is a characterful field blend of Mencía, Mouraton, Grao Negro, Garnacha Tintorera, Bastardo, Godello, Dona Blanca and Palomino, made with minimal intervention. The white grapes lend a freshness to the red-fruited nose, and a fresh lift of acidity to the vibrant palate, which features juicy, brambly fruit with sour-cherry notes.
