Finca Sandoval became famous under owner Victor de la Serna – not every wine writer dares to make wine too. Now with new majority investors, and a new winemaker in the form of Javier Revert, the vineyards have been reassessed. In 2019 Revert made four wines, changing blends and winemaking, which are released this spring. Fundamentalista is the very approachable vino de pueblo; the single vineyard La Rosa is the top. Grown on gravel, on a slope, the wine is aromatic, fresh, a little more structured and tannic. Look out for the new Finca Sandoval, there’s a transformation.
