True to its name ('caliza en los bolsillos' means limestone in the pockets), this is a fine Monastrell, elegant and vibrant, with a beautiful mineral tannic framework. The chalky tannins support the crunchy red and black fruit with ease, backed by a firm, refreshing acid backbone. Intriguing notes of smoked bacon and petrichor. A superbly drinkable wine, best enjoyed slightly chilled.
