It's rare to find a Rioja made from 100% Graciano, but in my experience they are generally worth grabbing with two hands. This wine from Jean-Marc Sauboua is delicious, with a sweet, aromatic, balsamic quality combined with an earthy fragrance of dates and baked black cherry, and flavours of ripe black fruits, currants and violet overtones. It's quite tight and closed so it's worth opening ahead of time – or give it another couple of years before opening.
