Jon Cañas, grandson of Luis Cañas, makes wines with his family’s best plots of old vines for the Amaren project. A blend of Viura, Malvasía and Tempranillo Blanco, from vines aged 60 years or more, at 545m altitude. Fermented and aged in French oak and concrete, it’s a brilliant (in both senses), rich but incisive wine with a finely etched streak of acidity and a salty-mineral quality to accompany turrón and tropical fruit.
