Franco-Españolas is a historic winery, founded in 1890, and was a leading player until the 1970s. Today they are focussed on restoring their prestige. 1937 was considered an average vintage, and the wine is very developed on the nose, with aromas of whisky, cedar and balsamic notes. It looks almost gone, but retains a noble expression. In the mouth it's much fresher and open, with remarkable finesses and balance, and a decadent, dense character offering an orchestrated, long finish. A great wine.
