Tesco, Finest Viña del Cura Gran Reserva, Rioja, 2012

Made by Baron de Ley, this gran reserva spent 24 months in oak followed by 36 months in bottle. It has a lovely fruitcake character, with spicy cedar and ripe black fruits which makes it a perfect winter warmer. It may seem sticky-sweet in the mouth thanks to all that oak and ripe fruit, but it finishes perfectly dry. Rioja is a great match with roast lamb, so give it a go!
