An oxidative style of white Rioja with a nod to Sherry. Bright camomile, linden and bitter almond aromas reveal a full-bodied palate. Citrus peel and saline notes brings a brightness to this aged wine that defies its years. Made from Viura grown on bush vines planted in 1980, on the high slopes of the Yerga mountains in Rioja Oriental, the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks, aged for 26 months in fine-grain American and French oak barrels, and then further aged in bottle for at least two years before release. Complex, compelling and still with potential to develop further.
