An impressive barrel-fermented single vineyard Xarel.lo, farmed biodynamically and aged on lees for three months. Generous gold colour, with aromatics of chamomile and lemon pith, this is surely the definitive statement of still Xarel.lo, such is its depth and textural harmony. Unctuous, yet with tension and an appealing herbal backdrop, the 2017 is unnervingly complex: white pepper cedes to nutmeg and lavender, which in turn tapers to an elegant dénouement. A shard of refreshing salinity animates the finish.
