Clay from Alta and limestone from Alavesa have conspired to shine in 2011, with a heady blend (dominated by 80% Tempranillo and 12% Mazuelo) allied to 35 months in oak from both Allier in France and Missouri – both ensuring depth of flavour and complexity. Ripe strawberry, plum and hints of cedarwood and smoke; poised and charming on the palate, the wine builds to an impressive crescendo of seduction.
