Plácet is the producer’s only white from a winery in Rioja, as well as wineries in Bierzo and Priorat that star with reds. Because of, or rather despite this, it is a highlight within the portfolio. The Viura vines are 30-plus years old, and they deliver a fine intensity, given added complexity by time in large oak. This is an elegant wine that’s about texture rather than wood, and develops beautifully over the years.
