An absolute gem for all those who, like me, love a traditional Rioja; strawberries and cream writ large, a backdrop of balsam, crushed raspberry and fine, beautifully poised tannins. The 15% not covered by Tempranillo is shared evenly between Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano; complexity ensues, with a shard of firm acidity, but nothing stands in the way of the pleasure principle.
