The El Sacramento vineyard sits on a promontory of silty clay-sand, rich in limestone. It was planted with bush-vine Tempranillo in 1986. An attractive nose of brambly red and  black berries, with a touch of vanilla, leads to a juicy, layered palate that wears its 15% alcohol lightly. Soft and voluptuous attack, with berry fruit, spice, black pepper and a mineral earthiness. A great food wine: pair it with roast lamb.
