This is a very polished and accomplished 100% Bobal, from bush vines planted in 1974 in the Parque Natural de las Hoces del Cabriel, to the west of the towns of Utiel and Requena. The vineyard sits on limestone and sandy, stony soils, and is organically farmed. The wine offers ripe red berries and dates with well-integrated oak (it spends 16 months in French oak barrels and then six months in clay jars), underlying graphite and stony freshness. A structured and characterful wine.
