Following an exceptional 2018 harvest, the producer decided to take part of its Pinot Meunier fruits, usually a blending partner to the estate’s sparkling wines, to create a single-parcel, single-varietal red wine. Pale ruby in colour with a garnet rim, the 100% Pinot Meunier has an intoxicating, earthy nose of hawthorn, rose potpourri and preserved red cherries. Elegant and juicy, with ripe red cherry and strawberry, smoked bacon on the palate, refreshed by bitter herbs and balancing acidity (4.6h/l). The wine was shortly aged in French and American oak barrels, giving it soft-textured tannins and a lingering finish of dried wolfberry.
