Chapel Down's latest release, the 'Vintage Reserve' 2019, will be available only to the on-trade. Bready bruised red apple, citrus, creamy brioche and a touch of dried hay on the nose. Aged on lees for 6 months before bottling and a further 18 months in bottle. It's crisp and vibrant on the attack, with lovely depth to follow. Cream and wheat crackers lead to white pepper-seasoned yellow fruits. Extra-brut in style, it has a lower dosage of 5g/l, with salivating but ripe acidity (7.5 g/l) and a touch of apple peel bitterness on the finish. A perfect partner for fine dining.
