This is a note for both Blanc de Blancs Late Disgorged and Cork Aged. This pair of 2013 Blanc de Blancs offers a rare and utterly fascinating opportunity to taste the same wine, matured in different ways. One is aged on lees for eight years, the other spent three years on lees and five on cork. Both are elegant and steely with spine-tingling acidity, but while the late disgorged wine is yeasty and honeyed, it’s still showing a very crisp mousse and gives the impression of being drier than the equally fresh but currently more resolved and truffley, cork aged wine in which the mousse is finer and more integrated and the finish very satisfying.
