One of the original pioneers, Ridgeview has been making English sparkling wine since the mid 1990s and their blanc de blancs wines have always been the standouts of the range. Made in tiny quantities and having spent 10 years on the lees, this 2009 is saline, savoury and self-assured. It’s subtle, bready and ‘Champagne-like’ rather than vibrant, appley and tangy. A very stylish choice.
