This multi-vintage is named after winemaker Dermot Sugrue’s great-uncle who established the concept of duty free in the mid 20th century in Ireland. Based on the 2016 vintage with reserve wines dating back to 2009, 50% of the base wine was fermented in old oak and, at 9g/l, the dosage is perfectly judged. Ripe orchard fruits and delicious, savoury spice fill the mouth, along with fresh, tangy acidity and a fine lively mousse. Still young, it will age and develop gracefully for several years.
