The 2016 was the first vintage to be bottled in magnum by The Grange and the wine is a wonderfully characterful blend of 65% Chardonnay, 20% Meunier and 15% Pinot Noir. This first release spent five years on lees and a further 18 months on cork and is full of typically English red apple and orchard fruit aromas and flavours, with keen acidity and subtle but attractive bready, autolytic notes. Further releases of the same wine with longer lees and cork ageing are to follow.
