Sourced from vines planted in 1911, in the Shenandoah Valley, this red builds in the glass with intense strawberry and wild herb character redolent of sage or sagebrush, along with savoury black olive tapenade coming through on the nose. There's plenty of hefty tannin on the palate, offering a very structured expression to the juicy strawberry and cherry fruit flavours, with more savoury notes coming through on the finish. This is a Zin that calls for braised meats, burgers, hearty pastas, or salads topped with dried fruit.
