Renzo notes that he has always loved Cabernet Franc, recalling that the estate first produced it in Bolgheri in 2007. Since then, he and his winemaking team have continually refined their approach with each passing year. The 2019 Cabernet Franc exhibits a wonderful chalky minerality that is highly expressive, while the wine itself is medium-bodied, with gorgeous purity of dark-berry fruit, elegant tobacco, and white pepper notes. Superfine cocoa-powder tannins resolve seamlessly through the bright mineral character. The wine is vivid, juicy, and layered with complexity, making it almost irresistible. Sagebrush notes, so typical of Atlas Peak, come through in a refined fashion, everything balanced and harmonious. It offers density and complexity while remaining light on its feet.
