A co-fermented field blend from old-vine blocks on the Aperture estate, led by 70% Zinfandel and complemented by Carignan, Petite Sirah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Sémillon, and Cabernet Franc, this wine is a welcome surprise. The winemaking team picks the grapes early to preserve lift and freshness, resulting in a rich, expressive red with fantastic acidity. The nose is bright and layered, showcasing ripe wild berries, dried flowers and herbs, like a bouquet garni, with a hint of wood spice. Medium to full body, the palate is gentle and satisfying, with soft tannins, a fresh herbal edge, and a spicy, lifted finish.
