Ashes & Diamonds takes its aesthetic and winemaking cues from the restrained Napa Valley wines of the 1960s and ’70s. Blanc No10 continues the estate’s Bordeaux-inspired white wine programme, blending 58% Semillon with 42% Sauvignon Blanc. It was matured for 10 months in new oak from French cooperage Boutes, placing barrel fermentation and élevage at the centre of this deliberately old-school Napa white. Jonathan Cristaldi: An energetic white with a refreshing backbone of acidity framing a host of citrus and orchard fruit, candied minerality and a mix of subtle white floral notes, slivered almonds and baking spices. Jenica Flippo: Crisp and energetic, bursting with candied citrus peel and underripe stone fruits. A thread of minerality keeps the focus, subtle oak adding just enough texture to soften. Cara Patricia: Full of ripe citrus and ruby red grapefruit, with a light grassiness and loads of tarragon-laced lemonade. Lovely.
