John Alban has long been a leading grower and producer of Rhône-style wines, but Clendenen was interested in his Chardonnays. Full straw in colour, this now has aromas of stewed apricot, but remains rich and potent despite a light oxidative tone. Very mature, it's suave and full-bodied and, while concentrated, it's rather flat without being heavy or tired. Quite long but needs to be drunk up.
