The “Hildegard” blend from Au Bon Climat is comprised of 50% Pinot Gris, 40% Pinot Blanc, and 10% Aligoté as a tribute to the original varietal makeup of the Burgundian Grand Cru Corton-Charlemagne. The 2011 vintage is creamy and toasty on the nose, showing aromas of brown butter and candied corn. The texture is oily and rich, with flavors of yellow apples, white peaches and toasted hazelnuts. This cuvée was aged in 100% new French oak which has integrated well, and the wine finishes with verve and energy.
