Sourced from the Fig Tree Vineyard in the St. Helena AVA, this blend of 97.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2.5% Cabernet Franc was aged for 22 months in 75% new French oak. The Fig Tree Vineyard's 2022 wine is more serious than the Pocai Vineyard's, showcasing blue fruit and indulgent chocolatey oak notes that are immediately appealing. While the flavour profile leans hedonistic, the palate is balanced by structured, firm, and superfine tannins that form a solid foundation and provide levity to the juicy, succulent dark berry fruit and sweet spice character. The only drawback is the 15.9% alcohol, which, while nicely balanced when served slightly chilled, might become more noticeable at room temperature. This is a wine best enjoyed in the comfort of home alongside a hearty meal, where it will undoubtedly provide plenty of pleasure and relaxation.
