Another fabulous field blend of vines planted back in 1883. Around 50% is Zinfandel, with 20% Carignan, 4% Mataro and the remainder a blend of more than 20 other varieties. It's rich but not overdone, exhibiting spicy black fruits, griotte cherry and cola with a savoury edge. The tannins are supple and bright, and the wine retains great purity and balance with a good finish. Lots of ageing potential.
