The Old Vine Zinfandel is simply a deal: a vivid expression of old vines, selling for around $30, from several iconic vineyards in Sonoma County, with additional fruit from Contra Costa, Lodi, and Amador counties. Though it’s labelled as Zinfandel, the nature of these old-vine vineyards - historically planted to a mix of varieties - means there’s always a small percentage (around 5–7%) of 'everything else'. 'It has more genetics than any other wine bottle,' says winemaker Morgan Twain-Peterson. The nose shows bright red fruit with a touch of spice, while the palate is lively and balanced, with fine-grained tannins giving way to a fresh, lifted finish. A fantastic entry-way to the Bedrock portfolio.
