The 2018 Maxiums is a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Syrah, 8% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot, 5% Malbec, 4% Petite Sirah and 3% Petit Verdot aged 12 months in 20% new French oak. Black cherry and black currants with tobacco and brown baking spice aromatics. Full-bodied with granular sweet cedar-rich tannins and heaps of blackberry fruit layered with tilled earth notes. It's a very delicious wine right now and will hold another 3-5 years. Bennett Lane Winery winemaker is Rob Hunter (formerly of Groth, Robert Keenan, Markham, and Sterling).
