This Chardonnay offers beautifully lifted aromatics of citrus, apple, and pear, underscored by a blast of sea spray minerality and candied ginger. Year after year, it carries an incredibly captivating savoury note of rosemary or pine resin, which repeats on the palate alongside laser-focused acid tension, and this vintage is no exception. A firm phenolic grip lends a serious impression of structure, with that mineral salinity driving through a long finish. The wine is made at Bergman, with Nigel Kinsman overseeing the final blending of the 2021 vintage and leading fermentation for the 2022s. Owned by Alan and Pam Bergman, the tiny Spring Mountain estate was purchased in 2014, with the first vintage released in 2018.
