The era of the 1990s (and 2000s) saw a string of outstanding vintages. This wine is a step-up from the 1980s in texture and it has smooth, velvety tannins thanks to a new de-stemmer. Drought conditions and losing half the crop concentrated the fruit, so it’s big, dark, brooding and slightly austere, with notes of espresso and an underlying earthy-berry character that’s an Estate Cabernet hallmark.
