The South Hill block was planted in 1995 to clone 337. Aged in 60% new French Oak barrels for 18 months. The wine is quintessential Stags Leap District, with its powerful, structured, mineral-intense character, a mix of crushed graphite and red-rock ironstone. Toasty oak spices of sandalwood mingle with tobacco, and the finish is full-bodied, oozing with dark black fruits, black anise, and blackcurrants.
