The Diane Cobb Pinot is consistently one of the best wines in the Cobb portfolio. It comes from a small block of 0.6 hectares (1.5 acres) right at the entrance, on top of the Coastlands vineyard, planted to 18 different clones, all by Diane Cobb herself, Ross Cobb's mother, in 1989 (though small additional plantings were added in the mid-90s). The 2023 is quite delicious. It has scents of dusty soils, eucalyptus, bay leaves, violets, and a woodsy note mixing with citrus and berry. It tastes savoury with a concentrated mid-palate yet lifted, carrying a spicy, balanced, salty citrus finish.
