Such a wonderful, balanced expression of the 2019 vintage of Napa Valley Cabernet from Conn Creek. The Cuvée Collins is packed with blackberry fruit wrapped in tobacco leaves, and lifted by sandalwood notes. Full-bodied, sporting black currant, creme de cassis, graphite, and dark chocolate. Long, satiny tannins are nicely integrated and the finish is oozing with saline mineral character. Founded in 1973, Conn Creek winery is situated on the eastern side of Napa Valley, just off the Silverado Trail. Best known for its Bordeaux-styled wines, Elizabeth DeLouise-Gant has been winemaker since 2017. Previously, she worked at Beaulieu Vineyard, Tamber Bey, and Stag's Leap Wine Cellars.
