From the Veloqx Vineyard in Napa's Atlas Peak appellation. Alluring blackberry fruit, dried sage, sandalwood, and earth lift from the glass, all landing on the medium to full-bodied palate, with a real linear expression of Cabernet that is surprisingly soft and seductive. The mighty Atlas Peak tannins are nicely integrated and seem almost tame here but assuredly present and supported by blood orange acidity. At the same time, a rush of ironstone minerality lends further freshness and intrigue—understated power and elegance. Founded in 1973, Conn Creek Winery is situated on the eastern side of Napa Valley, just off the Silverado Trail. Best known for its Bordeaux-styled wines, Elizabeth DeLouise-Gant has been winemaker since 2017. Previously, she worked at Beaulieu Vineyard, Tamber Bey, and Stag's Leap Wine Cellars.
