Only the second release of this 100% Chardonnay. Though proprietors Henry and Vanessa Cornell have fashioned their estate after a Bordeaux model, they realise their 49ha estate on the western, Pacific-facing side of Spring Mountain in the Mayacamas range offers pockets of vineyard land ideally suited to Sonoma Chardonnay. Spending eight months in neutral French oak, vivid lemon cream notes rise atop a bed of white flowers, crushed almonds and a saline edge, complemented by fresh tarragon and chervil. Lemon, lime, yellow apple and Bosc pear flavours fill the silky palate, framed by a firm backbone of acidity and a mineral finish.
